HISTORY
The Cross Culture was founded by Dr. Korbet and Melanie Swope on Father’s Day 2005.
Dr. Swope, an ordained Southern Baptist minister, received his doctorate of ministry from
Beacon University's ‘Christian Life School Of Theology’ and has served at several area
churches, in various capacities, for over 25 years.
NAME
The name ‘Cross Culture’ carries more than one meaning.
-It identifies our mission minded desire to reach across every cultural boundary with
the gospel of Jesus Christ.
-It embodies our core philosophy of life that seeks to place the cross of Christ at the
center of our own individual cultures.
CLASSIFICATION
The Cross Culture is an independent, non-denominational, Christian church. We have no
denomination or organizational affiliation but freely fellowship with churches of like faith
and ministry philosophy across denominational lines.
